MISSION STATEMENT:
Youth stewards are high school and college students dedicated to build a
bridge between youth and children for the empowerment of all. Youth stewards
are loving, caring, role models committed to motivate and inspire children
through community service projects and service organizations in order to
improve the quality of life.

Youth Stewards are a diverse group of current high school and undergraduate students earning scholarships from $350 to $750 by  participating in 100 hours or more of community involvement. They come from across Central Oregon , many growing into leadership positions through their CYC youth development organizations.  They span the ethnic, racial spectrum. What binds them together is their personal commitment to exemplify the creed articulated by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Everyone can be great because everyone can serve."

The Youth Stewards Program provides three-fold benefits

bullet

youth learn from CYC member organizations the ability to advance their leadership and community service skill levels and strengthen their sense of community stewardship

bullet

communities develop real opportunities to foster youth leadership and demonstrate commitment to healthy communities

bullet

organization increase capacity to support the growing youth population with positive role models and peer support
